Tokyo: The Ambassador along with the officers and officials of the Embassy visited Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) where international students were celebrating a cultural week. The Japanese students of Urdu Department of TUFS set up a Shalimar Restaurant where they cooked and served Pakistani food. The students also presented an Urdu play “Angan Terrha” to a packed Hall. Ambassador speaking on the occasion appreciated the students’ keen interest in choosing to study Urdu and impressive efforts prepare and rehearse their play and in doing so promote Urdu language in Japan. He said language played a pivotal role in bringing countries culturally closer together. Later the Ambassador distributed traditional Pakistani gifts to the participants of the Play.
