Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and fervor at Pakistan Embassy in Tokyo. Flag hoisting ceremony was performed by Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل).
A large number of Pakistani citizens living in Japan including the staff of the Embassy participated. The Ambassador read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister to the audience. The Ambassador speaking on the occasion called upon for unity in our ranks and working with our Japanese friends in promoting Pakistani culture, history, traditions and economic potential.
Leading English newspaper The Japan Times brought out Special Supplement on this day. The Supplement carried the messages of the Ambassador, Mr. Seishiro Eto, President, Japan-Pakistan Parliamentarians’ Friendship League (PJPPFL), former Vice Speaker, Lower House, Mr. Antonio Inoki, Senator and Pakistan Goodwill Ambassador to Japan on Sports Diplomacy and Mr. Teru Asada, Chairman, Japan-Pakistan Business Cooperation Committee.
