Ambassador call on His Imperial Highness Crown Prince

              Tokyo (June 20, 2013) – Following the audience with Their Majesties, the Emperor and Empress on 1st May 2013, the Ambassador called on His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan this afternoon.

 

              During the conversation the visit of the Emperor and Empress to Pakistan in 1962 as Crown Prince and Princess was fondly recalled.

 

              The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to the Crown Prince. The Ambassador expressed the hope that the Crown Prince, like his parents, would be able to visit Pakistan and experience the rich heritage and see the breathtaking landscapes. The Crown Prince referred to the K-2 and Nanga Parbat mountains and said it would be wonderful to see this area.

 

          The Crown Prince conveyed his best wishes to the Government and people of Pakistan. The Ambassador expressed the Pakistan Government’s deep appreciation for the longstanding Japanese friendship and help during the past several decades. He highlighted that Japanese corporations were also prospering in Pakistan. There was also a discussion on the historical links between the Ghandhara Civilization and Nara in Japan.
