Ceremony in remembrance of March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake held at Chiba Prefecture

 

      Tokyo:  A ceremony in remembrance of March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake was held at Chiba Prefecture on Sunday.  The ceremony was organized by the Pakistani community living in Japan.  Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) joined Mayor of Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture Mr. Eiichi Yoshihara to remember the traumatic day of earthquake and Tsunami on 11th March, 2011.  In speeches made by leading community members the rescue and rehabilitation work of the Pakistani community, the exemplary discipline and spirit of sacrifice shown by both Japanese and Pakistanis was recalled. 

      Mayor Yoshihara paid glowing tributes to the Pakistani community for their immediate and aftermath assistance to the Tsunami affectees.  He stated that these acts of kindness would not be forgotten by the Japanese people.  The Pakistani community had stood side-by-side with their Japanese brothers and sisters at a time of tragedy and sorrow. 

      The Community members and the Japanese guests joined in offering prayers for the departed souls and Fateha for one Pakistani late Mr. Muhammad Ayaz Salim Sindhu.   Prayers were also offered for further strengthening the bonds of fraternity and brotherhood shown during the calamity.  The Ambassador highlighted the critical work of the community in the time of crisis.  He apprised the participants of the kind and generous words of Their Majesties, the Emperor and Empress recognizing the Pakistani community’s immense help in that difficult period.
