Osaka: Ambassador Farukh Amil visited MOBIO (Monozukuri Manufacturing Business Information Centre) Osaka, a support organization of Osaka Prefecture Government for SMEs. He was briefed about the objectives and activities of the organization. While talking to the management of MOBIO, the Ambassador appreciated the critical role of SMEs in the development of any robust economy. He appreciated the 'academia-innovation-industry' model of entrepreneurship development in Japan and stressed the need to replicate the same in the developing economies.
In order to have an institutional linkage between the SMEs sector of Pakistan and Japan the Ambassador proposed that a formal mechanism should be considered between MOBIO and SMEDA leading to an MoU. He said that such linkages would help the exchange of business missions and information sharing, leading to the strengthening of SMEs in Pakistan. Later, he visited the showrooms displaying the products of SMEs of Japan.
